I am standing on this soap box because: I cannot believe I had to apply for another blue badge!

Why this is soap box worthy: B’s got a degenerative condition, it’s not going to miraculously heal, she’s not going to suddenly not need a blue badge for parking! And yet…

How much of my time did the admin of this waste? tbh if I hadn’t had to spend 3 hours looking for her birth certificate because it was in the last of the files at the back of the cupboard, behind the million things rammed in the ramming cupboard 😉 it’d have taken about an hour , but … in my exasperated defence … they’ve had the birth certificate a quadzillion times before … can they not keep it on file … it’s exactly the same as 3 years ago!

Can I change anything for next time?

No : I asked this question, I was informed it’s procedural to reapply every 3 years with a new photo. I asked if the basic form template and supporting evidence could be held on file so I literally only had to upload a new photo … but alas… apparently not.

Do I have the energy to fight this? No

Did I have to pay for this privilege? Yep, £20

Conclusion: It’s really frustrating, but I don’t have energy or will to fight it, so I need to accept it and let it go and look forward to 3 years time! Oh and at least I’ve found her birth certificate … just got to ram everything back in the cupboard now!
