I blog because it supports

Why do you blog?

I blog about life as an unpaid carer thro the practices I developed when I burnt out. I blog because unpaid caring can by it’s nature be very isolating, but I believe that to live wholeheartedly requires connection with others. I blog to support myself and my daughter better but also because I think in the sharing it connects with others in our situation and so could provide support there. I blog because I have a need to create something and limited time and resources to do it. I blog because I love language and how it can be used to capture lived experience and form connections with a wider community. I blog because unpaid carers stories aren’t widely shared and I couldn’t find a voice like this out there, so I realised I needed the courage to start sharing my voice. I blog because I want to evidence that the unpaid caring journey can be lived wholeheartedly. I blog as a journey, it is not an arrived at destination and the blog will flex and flow as I learn and grow and it seems valuable to capture that journey.
