Play Experience: 70’s night with my friends

Motivation for this experience: I met my girlfriend for a walk and was lamenting my need to get back out there socialising but being skint due to reduction in wages. She suggested I invited our direct social circle ladies for a night at mine, to ‘dip my toe back into entertaining’ and they could each bring a dish. I replied ‘How very 1970’s’ and so this night was born. There was 5 of us. We dressed in 70’s garb ( FTR I love any excuse for flares and disco) , I downloaded a 70s downtrack ( think Fleetwood Mac and Blondie blending into full on D.I.S.C.O – did I mention I love everything disco!) and each attendee brought a dish: Prawn Cocktails, Cheese Fondue, Quiche, Vol-au-vents, Cocktail His and Hers Hedgehogs (see below) Mini Black Forest Gateau and Cheese and biscuits. Miss B was v good and agreed to stay in her room and watch ‘Tangled’ with her sister, but she obviously had to get in on the Gateau and the dress up photo action 😘.

Price: I have lovely friends who helped spread the cost of this and entered into the spirit, socialising in the house is the way ahead.

Overall review: This is definitely the way ahead for socialising in our current care situ. My friends were so inclusive of B and much fun was had. I am now the proud owner of a pineapple plant, disco lights and foil door curtain – absolutely outing them again ‘Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now’!
