To Do August 2024

Aw Man August is always a mental month for rubbish annual admin tasks – this is a working document to keep me on track and shall be edited as required.

  1. 1st Aug – attend wheelchair assessment – DONE but … they had to remove the power pack from the WestMarc ( NHS) chair to fix the back so… I now need to add point 11 below.
  2. Renew Care Protect Insurance for B’s PA’s (Personal Assistants) – NOT DONE Man, what a farce ( MINI SOAP BOX alert) they had no record of me paying last year and I’m now having to prove it to them , which is proving challenging as I can’t screen shot the bank app – I.T. is great until it’s not! Oh and I’ve locked myself out of my internet banking and phoned for help and failed to verify who I am … does anyone know who I am? OK HALF DONE – I got back on – I printed out the transactions, I photographed them and e-mailed them back to insurer and hopefully …
  3. Pay Day Care Charge £46.32 – DONE
  4. 2nd August – Complete Respite paperwork … again … MINI SOAPBOX alert 2 – I HATE COMPLETING THE INVENTORY OF EVERYTHING SHE TAKES! And lift B’s personal contribution £79.59, and sign medical permission form! DONE
  5. By 31st August – complete Annual Review for Office of the public Guardian … AGAIN – statements of all bank accounts, receipts for individual purchases over £100, copy of benefit letters, any contract note for the sale or purchase of stocks and shares (LOL) – Remember to apply for exemption of £90 fee!
  6. Renew cinema card
  7. Post back VAT exemption to Mobility shop
  8. Organise and communicate carer shifts with carer’s (PA’s) and Payroll
  9. Log all falls for Physio
  10. Carer ( PA) has quit – contact Payroll and Take Control to work out next steps! DONE but then Carer 2 quit too … and now I have an issue as ‘there’s a national carer crisis and no PA’s’ … UPDATE 28/8 I think we have care sorted …cross everything!
  11. Contact Mobility shop to find out how to swap power pack from NHS chair to privately owned chair, because we need a power pack to get out and about ASAP!
Big breath … just get them done!

Respite clothes list – write the list then photocopy it 3 times. Next 3 times B goes to respite send her with the clothes on the list.

Easy peasy – although she may complain about wearing the same clothes to respite 3 times in a row! (M wouldn’t care 🤣).
